James “Jamie” N. Jones, 76, of Hannibal, MO passed away at 9:43 PM Monday, December 16, 2019, at his home.
Jamie was born on October 31, 1943, in Worthington, MN the son of Ned R. and Lucille (McLeod) Jones.
He was united in marriage to Joyce Hardy on February 14, 1964, in Hannibal, MO. She survives him of the home.
Other survivors include his children, Rikki Wright and husband Clint of Columbia, MO, Cathy Boteler and husband Danny of Liberty, MO, and Brian T. Jones of Hannibal, MO; grandchildren, Meredith Wright, Eli Wright, Megan Boteler and Molly Boteler; his loving three legged cat, ”Tipsy”; and four nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Jones was preceded in death by a brother, Robert “Bob” Jones, and niece Laura Cowden.
Jamie graduated from Hannibal High School in the class of 1961. He honorably served his country during Vietnam in the U.S. Army.
Mr. Jones worked as a lineman for Southwestern Bell/AT&T and retired after thirty-eight years of service.
Over the years Jamie enjoyed playing golf at the American Legion Golf Course. Away from golf and work, Jamie enjoyed working on keeping a well manicured lawn, beautiful flower beds and building amazing retaining walls for his flower beds. In his free time, Jamie enjoyed watching sports on TV and a cup of coffee on Main Street in Hannibal just about every morning.
Family was the love of Jamie’s life.
Jamie was a member of the Pole Sitters, Emmette J. Shields American Legion Post #55, and previous member of the American Legion Golf Course.
Mr. Jones was a *Christian by faith.
