Age 79, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away on Wednesday April 8, 2009. He was born on November 24, 1929 in Clinton County, MI the son of Fred and Edith (Feldpausch) Miller. Mr. Miller was a Veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the United States Army. He worked for Builders Lumber in Portland for over 30 years. He married Sandra (Slowins) on June 13, 1959 at St. Patrick Catholic Church and they were members there until their retirement to Hardy Dam, where they have lived the past 18 years. Jim enjoyed fishing and their many trips out west over the years. He truly enjoyed his family and was a craftsman who loved working with wood. He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers, Carl, Fred, and Dick Miller; sister, Helen Frechen. Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Sandra of White Cloud; 2 children, Carolyn Marie Braley of Muskegon, David James (Melissa) Miller of Lyons; 4 grandchildren, Crystal Marie (Jacob) Shivlie, Alicia Renee Braley, Shianne (Josh) Miles, and Marissa (LeRoy) Ward; 5 great grandchildren, Logan Braley, Matthew and Jordyn Ward, and McKenzie and Savannh Miles; 4 siblings, Gertrude Schueller of Jenison, Edmund (Eveline) Miller of Pewamo, Herman (Kathleen) Miller of Pentwater, and Theresa (George) Fox of Lansing; sisters-in-law, Pat Miller of Lansing and Joanne Miller of St. Johns; several nieces and nephews.
