James Donald Hawkings, age 61, a longtime resident of rural Eveleth died unexpectedly, Monday, July 1, 2013 in his home. He was born September 7, 1951 in Duluth, the son of Donald and Pearl (Overland) Hawkings and was a 1969 graduate of Eveleth High School. Jim earned degrees in Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, and Land Surveying. Jim was employed by Davey McKee Company and later was a co-founder and co-owner on Noramco Engineering Corporation. Through his work, Jim travelled through the United States and overseas, and was a senior member of the Instrument Society of America.
