James Franklin Crawford passed away at his home, Friday, February 25, 2022 at the age of 74.
James was born on August 17, 1947 in Pascagoula, MS to James Cecil Crawford and Ila Rebekah Whittington Crawford. He was a lifelong resident of Pascagoula. James served his country in the United States Marine Corp seeing action in Vietnam. After serving seven years in the USMC, he worked at Ingalls Shipbuilding as a planner for many years. In 2007 James saw the need to help others particularly veterans with chemical and alcohol dependencies, and founded the YANA CLUB providing community outreach and support. He was a religious man with a strong faith, upon founding the Yana Club it became his personal ministry and his passion. Unfortunately failing health, and no one to carry on the mission it was disbanded.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ray Cecil Crawford; 2 sisters, Ila Mae Crawford Jones and Emma Lee Crawford Vos.
He is survived by two daughters, Rebekah Marie Crawford Mitchell (Jeremiah McVeay) and Jennifer Renee Crawford Lewis (Ryan); five grandchildren, Tatum Marie Mitchell, Kyle Allen Mitchell (Jade Owen), Kody Daniel Mitchell, Conner Drew Spooner, and Paxton David Spooner; brothers, David Matthew Crawford (Aundria) and Jack Roosevelt Crawford (Mary Dykes) and a sister, Viola Crawford Cooper (Thomas C. Cooper).
