James Bonelli, age 90, lifelong resident of Hibbing, died Tuesday, January 31, 2012, in his home. He was born May 5, 1921 in Hibbing, the son of Anton and Marcelina Bonelli. He attended school in Hibbing. A veteran of the Army Air Force, James served during WWII. James was united in marriage to Barbara Greski in the First Lutheran Church in Hibbing on May 21, 1983.
James worked for 24 years for Hawkinson Treads, for Williams Lumber, and ISD # 701. He was a member of First Lutheran Church in Hibbing.
James is survived by his wife: Barbara; three children: Richard (Charlene) Bonelli of Ofallon, IL, Jane (Robert) Ward of Grand Rapids, MN, and Gary Bonelli of Burnsville, MN; two stepchildren: Michelle (David) Curtis, and Keri (Michael) Greiss; a step-brother: Tony (Sue) Bonelli of Hibbing; 8 grandchildren: Christina (Trevor) Harrison, Mary (Brian) Bonelli-Hoganson, Amanda (Phillip) Souser, Gina Bonelli, Maria (Erik) Schoenbeck, Kristie Terzich, Zachary Greiss, and Samantha Greiss; 5 great-grandchildren: Logan, Alex, Liam, Finnley, and Andrew; and one great-great grandson: Lukas.
James was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Sam and Joe; a sister: Fran; several stepbrothers and sisters; and a granddaughter: Ashley.
