Age 75, passed away on Sunday, March 25, 2012. He was born on September 1, 1936 in Grand Ledge, MI the son of Floyd and Lucille (Hawkins) Carroll. Mr. Carroll was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, and retired from General Motors after 32 years of service. James was a volunteer on the Portland Fire Dept. for 10 years, and he enjoyed going to coffee with the guys. He was preceded in death by his father, Floyd; wife, Linda in 2001; brother-in-law, Dennis Lefke. Surviving are his sons, Troy (Linda) Carroll, Todd Carroll, and Chad Carroll, all of Portland; grandchildren, Shelby, Dylan and Amber Carroll; mother, Lucille Carroll; sister, Kaye Lefke; nieces, Tami (Dave) Harman, and Michelle Lefke.
