J. Randolph “Randy” Umstead of Barclay, MD, formerly of Washington, D.C., passed away at his home on Tuesday, October 17, 2017. He was 48 years old.
Born in Maryland near Washington, D.C. on November 11, 1968, Mr. Umstead was the son of the late James R. Umstead and Jeanne Marie Umstead of Washington, D.C. He had lived in Washington for most of his life. He was a power plant operator and worked for Engie Electric in College Park, MD.
In addition to his mother, Mr. Umstead is survived by his wife, Lucille “Baby” Umstead of Barclay; one son, Cory Umstead of Raleigh, NC; a daughter, Blanka Jean Umstead of Raleigh, NC; a brother, Michael Umstead of Washington, D.C.; two sisters: Vivienne Gray of Henderson, NC and Marian Nichols of Philadelphia, PA; five stepchildren: Connor Coen, Christian Coen, Sean Smoak, Adriana Smoak, and Robin Smoak; and thirteen grandchildren: Mia, Peper, Jayden, Amelie, Coltan, Neveah, Karen, Chloe, Hollis, Kenley, Fraija, Wyatt, and Avery.
