Izabelle was born in Detroit on August 13, 1933, the daughter of Sahag and Khasvart (Hatzagorjian) Vosgerchian. She grew up in a traditional Armenian family, with an emphasis on family, compassion and faith. Izabelle was very proud of her Delray roots, always telling stories about the close-knit Armenian community.
Izabelle graduated from Southwestern High School. After graduation, Izabelle was a comptometer operator for the GM Cadillac division. She met her husband, Edward, at an ACYOA event. They first went out as friends to a New Year’s Eve party in 1955. They were married in November of that year, and enjoyed 58 years of a loving, devoted marriage. Izabelle helped her husband with his businesses, from the State Fair shish kebob stand, Judge’s Market, to catering. She was that great woman, next to her great man.
After her children were grown Izabelle worked with her sister-in-law, Armen, at Hamilton, Miller, Hudson and Fayne for 17 years. She retired in 1999 right after her first grandchild, Michelle Sharie, was born to help care for Michelle, and then cared for her second grandchild, Michael David. Izabelle was very proud of her husband, children and grandchildren. She always said that her family “was the loves of her life.”
Izabelle Jizmejian radiated beauty and kindness. Her pure heart had an unlimited capacity for love, and she always had a sympathetic ear. Izabelle carried herself with grace, and never said an unkind word about anyone. She always helped others, asking for nothing in return. Her strength and faith carried her through difficult challenges, never becoming bitter or discouraged no matter how insurmountable the challenge seemed.
When not taking care of her family Izabelle enjoyed doing things with her dear sisters Sadie and Helen, shopping, dining out, and traveling.
Izabelle was a magnificent woman who lived an exemplary life, with extraordinary faith and dedication to her family and friends. She will be missed by her family and all of those who were blessed to have her as part of their life.

Beloved wife of the late Edward Jizmejian. Dearest mother of Sharon Marie Jizmejian and Carol Ann Jizmejian (Don Hutchinson). Loving grandmother of Michelle Sharie and Michael David Halagian. Devoted daughter of the late Sahag and Khasvart Vosgerchian. Daughter-in-law of the late Haig and Serpouk Jizmejian. Dear sister of the late Sadie (the late George) Sarajian, the late Helen (the late Richard) Torigian, and her late brothers, Thomas, Lawrence and baby Aram. Sister-in-law of Armen (the late Walter) Negosian and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
