Iva Jane Hokanson of Denton, MD, died Thursday, June 29, 2017, at the Caroline Hospice Home in Denton. She was 73 years old.
Mrs. Hokanson was the daughter of the late Gerald Osmond Collinson and Margaret Belle Hartge Collinson. She was a 1961 graduate of Annapolis High School. Mrs. Hokanson and her husband, Clyde Hokanson, moved to Caroline County from the Edgewater, MD area in 1985. She had been a member of the Davidsonville United Methodist Church for many years. Growing up in Edgewater, MD, Mrs. Hokanson had a love for anything involving water such as swimming and boating. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
In addition to her husband of 47 years, Mrs. Hokanson is survived by two daughters: Annette M. Dean (Alan) of Greensboro, MD and Charlene R. Wright of Greenwood, DE; two sons: Gerald D. Hokanson of Baltimore, MD and Jefferson J. Hancock of Cincinnati, OH; one sister, Emily Harward (Sam) of Chesapeake City, VA; one brother, Gilbert Collinson (Judy) of Edgewater, MD; 14 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Keith A. Hokanson, and a grandchild, Nicole Marie Torske.
