Mrs. Irene V. Lynch, formerly of Ionia County, died Friday evening, April 13, 2012, at Arbor Grove Assisted Living, in Alma, Michigan. She was 96 years old.
Irene was born on March 27, 1916, in Millbrook, Michigan, the daughter of Asa and Ruth (Moore) Decker. She married Lloyd W. Lynch on January 22, 1936, and they shared 63 years of marriage, ending with his death in 1999.
Irene enjoyed a rich and full life that included her family and many friends. She enjoyed many hobbies throughout her life ranging from quilting to painting. With her husband, she gardened, danced, and traveled throughout the United States. In her later years, she enjoyed serving the community by participating in outreach opportunities provided through Easton Methodist Church
Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Lawrence Fillhard, and her son, Gale Lynch. Over her very long life, she saw her family grow to include five grandchildren: Laura (Robert) Hill, Julie (Scott) McCormick, Chester L. Fillhard, Jeff (Marietsa) Lynch, and Deb (John) Fitzgerald; nine great-grandchildren: Rebecca (Christopher) Stoneburner, Magaret (Thomas) Platt, Katelyn Gregg, Chester W. Fillhard, Delaney and Eric McCormick, Jack and Connor Fitzgerald, and Daniel Hill; and seven great great-grandchildren: Ian, Alexander, Olivia, and Emerson Platt, and Wyatt, Grace, and Kambree Stoneburner.
