Irene Elizabeth Eaton (nee Viehman), 90, of Steelville, MO passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at Gibbs Care Center in Steelville, MO. She was born March 3, 1919 in Steelville, MO to Clarence and Carnie (Edwards) Viehman.
She will be sadly missed by her children, Joyce (Milt) Messick of Chicago, IL and David (Christine) Eaton of Liberty, MO; four brothers, Bud (Ava) Viehman of Steelville, MO, Richard (Marlyn) Viehman and Leslie (Dot) Viehman all of Florissant, MO, and Ralph (Ardell) Viehman of Garland, TX; one sister, Maxine Mullen of St. Louis, MO; three grandchildren, Michael Eaton of New York, NY, Steven (Debbie) Messick of Harvard, IL and Julie (Dave) Camel of Barrington, IL; four grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
For many years, Irene worked as a doctor’s assistant for some of the local doctors in Crawford County.
Irene was a member of the Steelville Presbyterian Church for over seventy years. She was a long time member of the Steelville Extension Club.
In her spare time, she was an avid reader.
