Inez Alice Cox, 86, of Dyer, Indiana, formerly of Cherryville, MO passed away Friday, February 27, 2009 in Dyer, Indiana. She was born January 23, 1923 to Marion and Nora (Morrison) Donal in Cherryville, MO. On March 27, 1953, she was married to William Alfred Cox in Pocahontas, AR. He preceded her in death on February 13, 2003.
She will be sadly missed by her one son, Alan Cox and wife Nina of Bennington, NE; two daughters, Patricia Jones and husband Jerry of Dyer, IN and Rita Booth of Omaha, NE; one sister, Helen Wigger of St. Louis, MO; nine grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband William Alfred Cox, one brother Thomas Donal and wife Esther; one sister, Carol Eveland and husband Hubert and one brother-in-law, Arthur Wigger.
When growing up in Cherryville, Inez and her sisters played country music on the local radio station where Inez played the guitar.
She later went to a school of cosmetology in St. Louis and became licensed in five states and owned her own shop in St. Louis. After getting married she and her husband moved to Indiana, Ohio and Nebraska eventually moving back to Dyer, Indiana after her husband passed away in 2003.
She enjoyed playing cards with her family, fishing, quilting, cooking and embroidering.
Inez had a little Boston Terrier, Dixie, whom she loved to spoil and will miss her.
Inez attended the Methodist Church and was a member of the Eastern Star in Omaha, NE.
