Obituary
Ila M. Steutermann nee Heger passed away on August 5, 2018 at the age of 79. She was the beloved wife of Milton Steutermann of Weldon Spring, Missouri. She is survived by her two sons, Steve Steutermann of Mason, OH, Kirk Steutermann of Weldon Spring, MO; daughter, Kim Steutermann (Eric) Rogers of Kauai, HI; sister, Judith Paul of Oxford, MS. She is preceded in death by her father, Armin F. Heger, mother, Myrtle M. Heger nee Gibbons, brother, Wayne Heger, brother-in-law, Randall Paul. Ila grew up in Augusta, MO and moved to several different cities around the country, including: Dallas, TX; Downingtown, PA; Chicago, IL; and her most recent residence in Weldon Spring, MO. Ila had many passions in life; she was a supporter of first responders, an advocate of animals and wildlife, and a master seamstress. Ila had a great appreciation for history and became an expert at refurbishing antiques. This passion drove her to becoming a successful business owner of her own antique store. In addition to this, Ila was a sports enthusiast and was a very competitive basketball player in high school. However, her competitive side never faded with age, where she became an international bridge competitor and a champion in bowling. Ila willingly organized and planned the preparations for her golf and bridge leagues. She cherished her marriage with her husband Milt and devoted her life to raising her children. Ila supported her children in everything that they were involved in including; being a Cub Scout Den mother, an Assistant Little League Baseball Coach, and a 24/7 cheerleader for all of her children’s sporting events. Ila loved her family and was fascinated in her heritage, so she became her family’s historian. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
