Ida Pearl Brown of Rolla, formerly of New Madrid, Mo  passed away Sunday, April 23, 2017 at the age of 92.

 

Ida Pearl Brown was born January 2, 1925 in Marston, Mo., to the late Elisha Dellon and Hattie Mozella (Newton) Nanney.

 

Pearl was united in marriage to “the love of her life” Willard Wilson Bailey on 9/16/1939, he entered into rest September 16, 1990 on the day of their 51st Wedding Anniversary.  Several years later she married a good friend, Russell Nelson Brown; he passed away February 1st 2012.

 

Pearl is survived by her daughters: Mary Tankersley of Rolla , Beverly Romine and husband, Larry of St.James, and Son-In-Law: Jim Clay of St. Charles. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren: Carrie  Ash, Jimmy Clay Jr, Kathy Daniels, Michelle Camenisch, David Schowengert, Courtney Burns, Jeremy Romine; and 13 great-grandchildren.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, her 10 siblings, Son-In-Law: Charles Tankersley, and her oldest daughter: Jeanette Clay

 

Pearl was one of 11 children, and she grew up in southern Missouri were she picked cotton as a young adult. She loved to help and serve others. In her last working years, she worked for home health where she helped and cared for many people.  For several years she organized a monthly dance group at the Eugene Northern Hall in Rolla. She loved to play Bingo and she never missed an episode of Wheel of Fortune. Pearl’s greatest love was for her family, especially her grandchildren.  She attended the Church of God in St. James and First Community Christian Church in Rolla.
