Howard Lynn Barker, age 78, longtime resident of Hibbing, died Tuesday, December 20, 2016, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth.
Howard was an ironworker and retired as a Supervisor for Vidmar Iron Works in Mt. Iron. He was a member of Mesaba Lodge #255, The Shriners, and was Captain of the Shrine Motor Patrol. Howard loved feeding all of the critters that would stop by his home.
Howard is survived by his companion of 30 years: Kelly Kohler, and her son: Jason (Maija) Kohler; his children: Howard L. (Ellen) Barker, Jr. of Hibbing, and Liz Johnson of Carbondale, CO; his sister: Barbara Knight of Southaven, MS; sister-in-law: Diana Barker of Trenton, TN; grandchildren: Amy (Gery) Martin, Bryan Barker, Bonnie Barker, Ashley Johnson, and Emily Johnson; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother: Don Barker; and his grandchildren: Dawn Partlow and Eric Partlow.
