Age 86, passed away on Thursday, April 19, 2012. He was born on February 6, 1926 in Eagle the son of Anthony and Gladys (Patrick) Wohlscheid. Along with his wife Verna, he owned and operated Municipal Supply Co. and this year marks it’s 50th anniversary. Howard was a veteran of the U.S. Army 10th Mountain Division serving in Italy and he was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He enjoyed his Army reunions in Italy. Howard was a member of the Portland United Methodist Church, F&AM # 31 Masonic Lodge and was a Boy Scout Leader. He was preceded in death by siblings Charles Wohlscheid, Dorotha Galey, and Joyce Gibbs. Howard was also preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Verna. Surviving are his children Lisa (David) Fitzpatrick of Ionia and Brian (Nancy) Wohlscheid of Portland; Grandchildren Lindsay (Will), Ethan, Daniel, Blake, and Graham; Great Granddaughter, Chloe; Brother, Robert (Vivian) Wohlscheid; many nieces and nephews.
