Hilda Sherman (96) of West End Avenue, Cambridge, MD passed away on Monday, October 13, 2008.
Rose Kuhn (90) of Choptank Avenue, Cambridge, MD also died on Friday, October 24, 2008.
Both were living in the home of Rose’s son, Robert, in Alpine, Utah. They were born in Greensboro, MD; daughters of the late William and Katrina Ritter Knipple. Hilda was born on August 2, 1912 and Rose on January 20, 1918. They were raised there and attended Greensboro High School.
Hilda met and married Orman Lester Sherman on March 28, 1932. She and Orman moved to Cambridge in 1963. He passed away on January 13, 1991.
On May 30, 1941 Rose married Robert Lee Kuhn. They have a son Robert Allan, born in 1948, a year later they moved to Cambridge. Husband Robert, passed away on October 4, 1983. Rose worked as a seamstress for 30 years and retired from Rob Roy in 1983.
Rose is survived by her son Robert and daughter-in-law Cheryl, of Alpine, Utah; Five grandchildren; Kay (Wayne) Schmidt of East New Market, MD, Chris (James) Mitchell of Middletown, DE, Jason (Michelle) Kuhn of Chambersburg, PA, Daniel (Katie) Kuhn of Durham, NC, April Kuhn of Alpine, UT, and twelve great grandchildren.
Hilda and Rose were both members of Saint Mary Refuge of Sinners Catholic Church and proceeded in death by their parents and spouses, as-well-as four brothers; Arthur (Julia), Oliver (Elizabeth), Clarence, Ervin, and three sisters; Elsie (James) Jordan, Julia, Mabel (Nelson) Pritchett.
Note of Interest: In January 2008 Hilda came to live with Rose in Utah and died 11 days before her. They lived close together all their 90 + years and death would not separate them!
