Age 77, passed away on Saturday, December 6, 2008. He was born on March 5, 1931 in Riley Township the son of Herman and Bertha (Trierweiler) Schrauben. Herm was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, K of C Council #2168, F.O.E., AmVets, American Legion and Portland Bowling Association Hall of Fame. After high school graduation he went to barber school in Detroit. He returned to Portland and went into the barber shop business with his brother, Ken for 25 years. In 1972, Herm and Ken purchased the Wagon Wheel Bar and owned and operated it until 1997, when his son, Chopper carried on the family business. He was active in real estate in the Portland area. Herm is a veteran of the United States Air Force, enjoyed bowling, golfing, photography, and gardening.
