Obituary
Watching Herman live his life anyone could see that he thought commitment was important in every aspect of living. Commitment to God, his kids, his friends, his work, his community but nowhere more obvious than his commitment to his wife. Herm will be missed in many places, by many people, but none more than by Peggy’s side. This wonderful man led by example how to live the good life – whether working or playing (including 23 years a weekend home owner at Lake of the Ozarks) he threw himself into every endeavor 110%. He was retired from both ITT Blackburn (30+ years) and as owner of Insty-Prints of Bridgeton, Inc. for 26 years. He was previously active in the Bridgeton Kiwanis and on many committees at Lake Sherwood Estates including his favorite, Lakes and Dams. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Peggy, and their children: Kimberly Bauer, Brian and wife Christine Bauer, Mark Bauer; Stephanie and husband Walter Eley, Jr. and John, Jr. and wife Karen Giannola; eight grandchildren; two brothers: Warner and wife Donna Bauer and Ronald and wife Dianne Bauer; parents-in-law, Robert & Verna Tucker and many, many relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Herman and Charlotte (Kessler) Bauer; and his granddaughter, Anna Bauer.
