Surviving are his wife of 33 years, Shelly; children, Mike (Amanda) Platte of Muir, Tom (Melinda) Platte of Ionia, and Adam Platte of Lyons; grandchildren, Sydney, Gunner and JoAnna Platte; parents, Julius and Pat Platte; siblings, Judy (Jay) Ford, Tim (Amy) Platte, Ben Platte, Ted (Betsy) Platte, and Jill Platte; in laws, Jim and Sharon Hoppes, Toni (Chuck) Miller, Craig Hoppes, Joe (Marion) Hoppes, Bonnie (Bob) Rockey, Kirk (Michele) Hoppes, Vic Hoppes, Becky (Scott) Hodge, and Kris (Dan) Platte; godmother, Rosie Manning; many good friends; special pet, a yorkie named Peanut.
