Henry “Hank” James Welberg, 79, of Baudette, MN, died Sunday, May 27, 2007 in the Nielson Place in Bemidji, MN. He was born November 28, 1927 in Gary, SD to Arthur and Gladys (Dawson) Welberg. He moved with his family as a young boy to the Baudette area and has been a resident ever since. He attended school at the Wheelers School.

Hank married Arla Bromberg in Porter, MN on November 28, 1953 and they have lived on the family farm. He farmed with his father for many years until his father passed away. He continued to farm grains and potatoes for seed, Hank farmed until his health failed him and forced him out of the fields.

Hank loved fishing with his friends and family some of his other hobbies included hunting deer and pheasant. He had a passion for playing cards including cribbage, whist and pinochle.

He was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church and was a former board member of the Nothern Farmers Coop Elevator.

Hank is survived by his wife of 53 years, Arla; his son Steve (Cheryl) Welberg of Baudette; his daughter, Joyce (Rick) Blodgett of Baudette; his brother, John (Barbara) Welberg of Baudette; his grandchildren, Heather and Jennifer Blodgett, William and Shane Tisdell, Brandy Nicholson and Brenton Hildebrandt and four great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Nancy Jane Welberg.
