Henry Wilmarth Mott, III “Bill”, 79, of Maine and Florida, passed away on the morning of July 14th at the Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick, ME. Born on April 12th 1933 in New York City, he was the son of Rosmond (Cutler) and Henry W. Mott, Jr. Henry grew up in Pelham, NY and graduated high school from the Riverdale Country Day School. He went on to graduate from Colgate University in 1955 and would attain his PhD from Columbia University. Henry worked as a professor and administrator for many colleges and universities, including Clarkson University, Worcester Junior College and Becker Junior College. He would later move to Sarasota, FL where he became an independent tax preparer with a gift for gab and bartering. Together with his wife, he summered in Maine for the last 25 years. He is survived by his wife, Lydia Pyne Mott; 4 sons, Charles Henry Mott, Thomas Bradford Mott and his wife Natalie, Daniel Lindsay Mott and his significant other Noel, and Henry Wilmarth Mott and his significant other Gail; 1 step-daughter, Lydia Simonetti and her husband Richard; and 5 grandchildren, Derek, Ian, Allie, Ella and Richie.
