Helen Ethel Francis 83, of Steelville passed away Saturday, January 13, 2007 at the Gibbs Care Center in Steelville, Missouri. She was born Tuesday, November 2, 1923 in Cherryville, Missouri, the daughter of Garr and Ethel (Smith) Gray. She was united in marriage to Lloyd Lea and after his death she married Robert Francis who also preceded her in death.
Those left to mourn her passing are two sons, Dennis Lloyd Lea and wife Linda of Steelville and Ernest Eugene Lea and friend Paula of Steelville; three daughters, Brenda Murray and husband Tom of Steelville, Barbara Parker and husband Junior of Steelville, and Doris Wilkinson and husband Kenneth of Davisville; two brothers, Lawrence Gray and wife Maxine of St. Louis and Russell Gray and wife Mandy of St. Louis; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Lloyd and Robert; one daughter, Judy Fay Lea; three brothers, Elmer, Glenn, and Earl Gray; three sisters, Dorothy Callahan, Ruth Walker, and Opal Turnbough; and one great-grandchild.
Helen had worked as a cook for many years at Viburnum Public Schools and had also worked at the Community Child Care Center. She will be missed by her children, grandchildren, brothers and many family friends who knew and loved her.
