Harrison C. Korky Taber of St. James passed away at his home on Thursday June 19, 2014. He was 81 years 5 months and 25 days of age.

Korky was born on December 25, 1932 in Cook Station the son of the late George Harrison and Thelma F. Talbert Taber.

On December 10, 1953 Korky was united in marriage to Shirely Mae Byrd.

He is survived by Shirley M. Taber (Byrd) and had two sons, Faron C. Taber and wife Janet, and Ronald D. Taber and wife Henrietta all of St. James. Sisters; Catherine E. Taber of St. James, Barbra S. Turner and husband Thomas of Russelville, Ar., and there daughters Jennifer and Patricia. Sister: Evelyn Huster and friend Thomas, of Salem. Brothers: Gary Taber and wife Marlyn of Poplar Bluff; Shiela Taber of Cherryville, Mo. and sister-in-law Mary Ellen of St. James. Korkys Uncle George Talbert and wife Loretta there sons and niece Andrea., James Talbert, Wayne Talbert, and George and Loretta’s daughter: Darla Talbert and her son Sam Talbert.

Korky Talbert is preceaded in death by one brother: George C. Taber, Nephews: Roger and Ronald Talbert, and great nephew Ross who passed away in infancy and Donna Talbert.

Korky lived in Cook Station in his teen years. From there he moved to Cuba, then to St. James. He served in the United States Army in the Korean War from 1953- 1955. He was a husband and father and was dearly loved. His delight was to go hunting and bass fishing, in which he spend most of his years doing.
