Brunswick – Harriet Marion York, 80, died peacefully after a long illness at Horizons Nursing Home in Brunswick. She spent her final days surrounded by family.
Harriet was born on November 26, 1934 in Phippsburg. She was the eldest of ten children born to Jerry and Hazel Wallace.
In December, 1958, she married Robert York. They made their home in Phippsburg.
Harriet was a avid golfer. She played in many tournaments and was 5-time club champion at Brunswick golf Club.
She was predeceased by her husband, Robert York; and 2 brothers, Joseph Wallace and Jerry Wallace.
Harriet is survived by 2 sons, Robert York and his wife Beth of Orr’s Island and Paul York of Camden. She is also survived by 5 sisters, Grace Moore, Janet Wyman (Phillip), Natalie Alexander (Henry), Sandra Anderson and Jean Wallace; 2 brothers, Gary Wallace and Kevin Wallace; and 4 grandchildren, Benjamin & Margaret York of Orr’s Island and Kaitlyn & Karrah York of Camden.
