He liked to travel to see the ocean, go to the desert and pan for gold, work on his tractors and enjoy life. Age 58, left us suddenly after years of pain that had taken all the joy out of life. Harold was an outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, and trapping. He retired from General Motors after many years of service, was a Veteran of the US Army and was a lifetime member of the Portland VFW Post #4090. He loved going to his property in Marion and working on it. He was and will always be a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, best friend, and soul mate Caroline “Snooks” Kimmel; his mother, Dorothy Kimmel, father, Robert Kimmel; step mother, Doris Kimmel; niece Debbie Kimmel and brother-in-law Thomas Herald. Surviving are his daughter, Stacey Tropf and Steve; grandchildren, Jessica Tropf, Steven “Bud” Tropf; brother, Stan (Sue) Kimmel; Dick (Sharon) Kimmel; sister, Patricia Hearld; god daughter, Katie Hearld; 2 nephews; 3 nieces close friend Byron “Bugs” Kincaid; many other relatives and friends.
