Harold Kuhn, 89, of New Haven, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, January 5, 2012 at New Haven Care Center.
Mr. Kuhn was born in New Haven, Missouri on March 27, 1922, the son of the late Paul and Edna (Heidmann) Kuhn.
He was the widower of Jewell M. (Dothage) Kuhn. They were married December 21, 1943 at Stony Hill, Missouri. She preceded him in death on April 29, 1992.
Harold is survived by a son John Kuhn & wife Nora of Washington, daughter Jane Schriewer & husband Ken of Washington, son James Kuhn & wife Kathy of Summersville, South Carolina, grandchildren Nancy Schriewer McCain of Tampa, Florida, Brett Schriewer of Houston, Texas, Malinda Schriewer Eckelkamp of Union, Missouri, Tammy & Frank Brown of Washington, Daniel Morgan and Julia Kuhn of Summersville, South Carolina, and great grandchildren Karli and Cara Mezo of Tampa, Makenna Eckelkamp of Union and Skyler and Morgan Brown of Washington. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife and one brother Kenneth P. Kuhn.
Harold served in the Army Air Corp in World Ward II. He was a crew chief and top turret gunner. He was an active member of St. Peter’s U.C.C. for most of his life. He taught Sunday School for over 50 years and served on the church council several times throughout the years. Harold was very active with the New Haven American Legion and was still helping to maintain financial and historical records and was a member of the V.F.W. He served Meals on Wheels for many years and helped organize people to help deliver them and was involved in the local food pantry. He, his father, Paul Kuhn and his brother, Kenneth Kuhn owned and operated Kuhn Brothers Station and Kuhn Chevrolet for over 65 years.
