There is a new chef in heaven. Born on September 9, 1935 to Frank and Celia Smith in Gleason, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2008 at the age of 72. His whole life was in the food business. An accomplished chef and business owner and also an avid Jeff Gordon fan. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Bill and Doyle Smith. He is survived by his wife Gladys of 29 years and co-rider on his dust free precious red Gold Wing. He is the proud father of Margaret (Rick) Wolczybock of Shelby Township, MI, David (Martha) Smith of Chandler, Arizona, Tim (Stacey) Smith of Hamilton, Michigan, Karen (Dan) Karachy of Zeeland, Michigan; step-children, Shirley (Jack) Proctor of Lyons, Michigan, Kevin (Annette Pace) Klein of Council Bluff, Iowa, Bruce (Adela Ray) Klein of Eaton Rapids, Michigan. A combined total of 26 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; sisters, Betty (Chuck) Garner of Carson City, Michigan, Linda Dunlap of Carmel, Indiana, Brenda (Tom) Kyriakaw of Lansing; brother, Dale (Nancy) Smith of Elleston, Florida; sisters-in-law, Koreen Smith of Lansing and Brenda Smith of Aurora, Colorado.
