Age 89, passed away on Wednesday, January 2, 2013. He was born on March 28, 1923 in Lansing, MI the son of Hanmer C. and Flaudie (Fleck) Butler. Mr. Butler was a member of the U.S. Army during World War II, was Past Post Commander of the Portland V.F.W. Post #4090, and former owner of Herm’s Freezer Meats in Eagle. Bud enjoyed fishing, traveling, and woodworking. He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene, a volunteer at the Portland Area Service Group, and worked at Portland High School, teaching carpentry classes. Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Betty Butler. Surviving are his daughter, Debra Butler of Lansing; brother, Jack (Betty) Butler; sister, Joyce McClung; nieces and nephews, Donna (Narayan) Sivaraman, Michael Lumbert, Connie Pierce, Larry (Wanda) Green, Roy (Julie) Green, Lorna Gloden, Yvonne (Craig) Sandborn, Brian (Sherri) Gensterblum, Noble (Rosie) Hartwick, Lana (Faro) Gervasi, George Carpenter, Tina (Wayne) Wieber, Diane (Steve) Butler, Rhett Butler, and Randy McClung; many great and great-great nieces and nephews.
