TAUNTON – Guilhermino Pinto, husband of Maria Eduarda (Botelho) Pinto, died at Longmeadow of Taunton on Oct. 29, 2013.
He was 81.
Born, raised, and educated in Faial, Azores, he was the son of the late Jose and Deolinda (Moitoso) Pinto.
He moved to the Taunton area in 1966.
Employed as an order picker by the former Foxboro Company for many years, Mr. Pinto retired in 1996.
He had also worked for Shaw’s, the former Fernandes Supermarkets, and Garcia’s Superette.
A well-known soccer player in the Azores, Mr. Pinto coached various area soccer teams in the cities of Taunton, Fall River, New Bedford, Bristol and Lowell.
He was a communicant of Annunciation of the Lord Church.
In addition to his wife of Taunton, he is survived by a son, Jorge Pinto of Taunton; a brother, Joseph Pinto and his wife Shirley of Taunton; a sister, Maria “Susie” Silva and her husband William of Taunton, four grandchildren, two great grandchildren, two brother’s-in-law, Mario Jorge Botelho of Lisbon, Portugal and Edward Camara of Somerset; special cousins, Anthony and Maria Nunes; and several nephews and a niece.
He was also the father of the late Ana Isabel Morais, and the brother-in-law of the late Adriana Camara.
His funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Monday November 4th at 8:00 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at Annunciation of the Lord Church at 11:00 a.m.
Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
The family will be receiving visitors on Monday morning from 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. prior to the funeral mass.
