Mr. Glenn P. Meyer, 86, of Hermann, Missouri, passed away Sunday, October 24, 2010 at Frene Valley Health Center in Hermann.
Mr. Meyer was born in Rhineland, Missouri on September 23, 1924, the son of the late Henry Meyer and Lorene (Schweerkotting) Bottermuller.
He was a farmer, he farmed in the Rhineland Bottom his whole life. The ground he farmed has been in his family for over 100 years.
Glenn was united in marriage to Raygene (nee Seidner) Meyer on September 28, 1946 at Morrison, Mo. Raygene passed away Aug 26, 1992. Glenn then married Leona (Krattli) Schaefer on August 20, 1995 at St. Marcus Church, Rhineland, MO.
He is survived by his wife Leona, by one son Steven Meyer and wife Karen of Berger; a daughter Glenda Noltensmeyer and husband John of Rhineland, by a step-son Richard H. Schaefer of Hermann; a step-daughter Carolyn A. Schaefer of Columbia; by a sister Idell Donze of Shalimar, Florida, by 4 grandchildren, 1 step grandchild and 2 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Raygene, and a sister Iva Schaefer.
Glenn was very active throu-out his lifetime with many organizations which he belonged and dedicated many years of service to. Those include Farm Bureau, The Benevolent Association Insurance Co, of which he was on the Board of Directors for over 40 years and served as president for over 30 years. MFA Inc. Coop # 130, Rhineland , MO of which he held several offices including President. He was one of the initial supporters and on the original Board of Directors of the Hermann Area Ambulance District where he also served as President. He was a member of the Rhineland Volunteer Fire Department, the Rhineland Wurst Jaegers Dance Group for over 60 years, and the Hermann Eagles. He served on the Board of Directors for St.
