Glendon “Sonny” Lee Gillam, 63, of Sullivan, MO passed away Saturday, August 28, 2010 in St. Louis, MO. He was born December 10, 1946 at Cherryville, Missouri to Ralph and Eula (Conaway) Gillam. In 1971 at Steelville, MO, he was united in marriage to Joan Hinch who survives of the home.
Sonny worked for Cassen’s Transport and retired from there after thirty years. He was a member of the Teamsters Local #604.
He attended the Reedville Baptist Church of the Sullivan area.
In his spare time, he always loved to fish, hunt and go bowling. He also enjoyed having a garden and woodworking.
He will be sadly missed by his mother, Eula Conaway of Sullivan, MO; his wife, Joan of Sullivan, MO; one daughter, Sheryl Elfrank of Sullivan, MO; two sons, Preston Gillam of Wisconsin and Rodney Bittle of Jefferson City, MO; two grandchildren, Devin Elfrank and Nicole Ryberg; one great-grandson, Aidan Ryberg; one brother, Junior Gillam and wife Carol of Sullivan, MO; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Clinton and Imogene Hinch of Sullivan, MO; one sister-in-law, Janet Hopkins of Cedar Hill, MO; one brother-in-law, Barry Hinch and wife Judy of St. Clair, MO; other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph Gillam.
