Gladys Lillian Martinson Tanem, age 94 of Hibbing died Sunday, April 17, 2016 at Guardian Angels Health and Rehabilitation Center in Hibbing. She was born July 30, 1921 in Marsh Grove Township, Marshall County, Minnesota the seventh child of John and Martha (Matison) Martinson and attended Karlstad Schools. Gladys married Arne E. Tanem on August 3, 1941 in Halma, MN and was a longtime resident of Hibbing. Gladys was employed as a housekeeper for Mel and Daisy Sachs for many years and was a homemaker. She was a member of First Lutheran Church and its Ladies Guild; the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and a lifelong member of the Sons of Norway Midnatsolen Lodge # 058.
