Ginger L. Hessey of Denton, MD, died Wednesday, September 27, 2017, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was 76 years old.

Born at home on October 23, 1940 near Denton, Mrs. Hessey was the daughter of the late John Wesley Corkell and Ada Louise Thomas Corkell. Her husband, George E. Hessey, Sr., died February 3, 2001. Mrs. Hessey was a graduate of the Caroline High School in Denton. She had worked at Caroline Nursing Home in Denton for 14 years, then at Black and Decker in Easton for 15 years, before working at the Pizza Hut in Denton for 10 years before retiring.

Mrs. Hessey is survived by three sons: George E. Hessey, Jr of Denton, Benjamin Hessey (Lena) of Denton, and John William Hessey of Denton; two daughters: Bonnie J. Pippin (Bruce) of Denton, and Sandra Ritch of Denton; one brother, James Corkell of Denton; 6 grandchildren: Christina, Steven, Janet, Hilda, Samauel, and Jessica; 6 great grandchildren: Brian, Elizabeth, Alicia, Arihanna, Rebecca, and Michael (Little Man); and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Wicky Roland Corkell, John Wesley Corkell, Jr., and Thomas Corkell; two sisters, Juanita Lasher and Anna Haggard; and two grandchildren, Johnny Hessey and George Washington Hessey.
