Gertrude E. Simmons, 82, of Sykesville, died Sunday, May 4, 2014 at Carroll Lutheran Village.
Born June 9, 1931 in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late John and Anna Och Zartler. She was the wife of the late Guy Leroy Simmons, Jr. They had been married for 23 years.
She had worked as a secretary for Westinghouse for 23 years. She enjoyed gardening attending local events flea markets with her friends and traveling especially to Ocean City.
She is survived by step children Diane L. Simmons and Mark R. Simmons and wife Kathleen, sister Anna Brathuhn, brother John Zartler and granddaughters Meghan and Colleen Simmons, Kathryn Irfan, great granddaughter Maliha Irfan, Aunt of Susan Crowl, numerous nieces and nephews and friend Barbara Tyler.
