Age 87, passed away on Tuesday, January 15, 2013. She was born on October 10, 1925 in Fowler, MI the daughter of William and Helen (Long) Halfman. Mrs. Hoppes was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, and worked at Fisher Body and Ionia County Memorial Hospital. Jerry enjoyed working in the yard, quilting, sewing, and baking grandma cookies. She married Leon M. Hoppes on September 11, 1948, and he preceded her in death in 2007. Also preceding her in death were her twin brother, Gerald Halfman; sister, Kathleen Foy. Surviving are her children, Judy (Duane) Huhn, Connie (Doug) Smith, Cathy (Tom) Klein, Nancy (Gary) Shortz, and Ken (Mary Jane) Hoppes; grandchildren, Marc (Kim) Huhn, Nikki (Andy) Mosser, Christine (Joe) Krieger, Kevin Klein, Kim Klein, Sara (Ryan) Clay, Calvin (Megan) Shortz, Troy (Cortney) Smith, Cassie Smith, and Jessica (Rob) Latva; great grandchildren, Mallory Huhn, Max Huhn, Riley Mosser, Aiden Mosser, Liam Mosser, Benjamin Smith, Avery and Owen Krieger; in-laws, Alice Kelly, Jim (Sharon) Hoppes, Joe (Alice) Hoppes, Larry (Dee Dee) Hoppes, Tom (Jill) Hoppes, Bill Trierweiler, and Oscar Townsend; many nieces and nephews.
