Geraldine “Gerry” Anna Torp-Smith

Age 96, died on Friday, July 24, 2015. She was born on March 11, 1919 in Portland, Michigan, the daughter of Dale and Marie (Rochlitz) Pierce. Mrs. Torp-Smith was a member of the Universal Unitarian Church. She enjoyed gardening, was an artist, craftswoman, teacher, and avid reader. Gerry loved the outdoors, nature, people, was an expert scrabble player and seamstress. Gerry loved fairness, was an inclusive person who was outspoken about exclusion and was an inspiration to her children. Gerry was a wonderful woman, mother, and friend, and she deeply loved her “Bussy”. Preceding her in death were her parents; son, Marley Torp-Smith; brothers, Charles and Leland Pierce. Surviving are her husband, Robert “Bussy” Torp-Smith; son, Torben (Libby) Torp-Smith of San Francisco, CA; grandson, Noah (Camilla) Torp-Smith; great grandchildren, Karla and Alberte Torp-Smith.
