Obituary
Geraldine (Geri) Marie Wilmes passed away on July 30, 2018 at the age of 76. She was the beloved wife of Eugene (Gene) Wilmes of Josephville, Missouri for 56 years. She is survived by her four children; Andrew (Kathy) Wilmes of Silex, MO, Philip (Denise) Wilmes of Flint Hill, MO, Jane Bruegenhemke (Jim) of Flint Hill, MO, Carl (Chrissy) Wilmes of Flint Hill, MO; two brothers, Rich (Carol) Vehige of Des Peres, MO, Joe (Jeanine) Vehige of Old Monroe, MO; two sisters, Betty (Jack) Ziegemeier of Saint Paul, MO, Dotty (Don) Moxley of Saint Charles, MO; three sisters-in-law, Agnes Schipper, Barb Wilmes, Dorothy Wilmes; eight grandsons; Justin (Katie), Jonathan, Emmett (Brigid), Evan, Raymond, Nolan, Aidan, Atticus; six granddaughters, Elizabeth (Patrick), Leslie (Jake), Helen, Grace, Aurea, Emma; great-granddaughter, Remington. She is preceded in death by her father, Alex Joseph Vehige, mother, Josephine Gertrude Burkemper, and grandson, Alex Wilmes. Geri grew up in Old Monroe, MO. She attended Assumption High School in O’Fallon, MO, which she graduated from in 1959. On October 7, 1961, Geri married the love of her life, Gene Wilmes, and lived her entire married life in Josephville, MO. Geri was a pious member of St. Joseph Church in Josephville. Geri was also a member of Ladies Sodality and The Quilt Club. Some of her favorite hobbies included completing puzzles, reading, and embroidery projects. She cherished quality time with her grandchildren and especially looked forward to attending their sporting events. Geri will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
