Obituary
Gerald L. Mengwasser passed away on July 10, 2018 at the age of 78. He was the beloved husband of Elizabeth Mengwasser nee Summers of Wentzville, Missouri; Gerald and Elizabeth (Liz) shared 52 years of marriage. Each coming from a large family, and blessed with children and grandchildren of their own, much of what Gerald did and who he was is rooted in “family”. Gerald had a passion for understanding how things work, how they were made, why some things stopped working, and how to make them work again. This passion led him through a life of building, remodeling and repairing. He also applied it to puzzles and models of all kinds for recreation. Gerald enjoyed fishing, playing cards and good conversation. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his three daughters, Joanne Mengwasser of Wentzville, MO, Debbie (David) Topash of Columbia, MO, Cathy (Roger) Menke of Fulton, MO; son-in-law, Chris (Geralyn) Blomberg, Lake St. Louis, MO; three brothers, Stan Mengwasser of Chesterfield, MO, Bernell Mengwasser of Kalispell, MT, Frank Mengwasser of Las Vegas, NV; four sisters, Marlene Haller of Rich Fountain, MO, Rita Lamb of Fulton, MO, Denise Aubuchon of Hurculaneum, MO, Cindy Neuner of Rich Fountain, MO; 6 grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Adolph C. Mengwasser, mother, Rita Mengwasser nee Plassmeyer, Spouse, Elizabeth Mengwasser nee Summers, daughter, Lisa Blomberg; brother, Mark Mengwasser.
