Age 82, passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 surrounded by his family. He was born on April 7, 1931 the son of Henry and Irene (Treester) Hamblin. Mr. Hamblin was a member of Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Ionia, a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, he was a past Exalted Ruler of the Ionia Elk Lodge, and a member of the Knights of Columbus in Ionia. George worked at Hitachi Magnetics Corporation in Edmore for 29 years. He enjoyed golfing and socializing with numerous friends. Preceding him in death were his parents; his first wife, Mary Lou in 1974; daughter, Amy Gibbs; granddaughter, Erin Hamblin; brother, Richard Hamblin. Surviving are his wife, Esther Hamblin; children, Jody (Mike) Randall of Edmore, Lynn (Rick) Bandfield of Edmore, David (Lori) Sallek of Lansing, Jill McLees of Orleans, Chris Sallek of Ann Arbor, Mark (Rebecca) Hamblin of Winn, and Gail Hamblin of Edmore; grandchildren, Courtney and Josh Gibbs, Nick Kost, Kristen Hamblin, Chad Sloan, Jade McLees, Morgan and Nathan Bandfield, Alix (Sam) Miller, Baylee Miller, Mike (Mandy) White, Jessica (Michael) Randall, and Tara (Mike) Doty; 5 great grandchildren.
