Age 94, passed away on May 1, 2010. He was born on September 22, 1915 to Arthur and Bertha Shultz in Riley Township. He lost both parents when he was child and then made his home at Byron and Minnie Palmer’s. He graduated from Rodney B. Wilson High School in St. Johns and a member of the DeWitt Masonic Lodge. George was employed at General Motors and was a lifelong independent farmer. He and his wife Ruth were married in August of 1936 and together they shared 64 years of marriage. She preceded him in death in 2000. George was also preceded in death by his second wife, Betty Shultz. He is survived by a daughter, Beverly (Gerald) Selden and four grandchildren Scott (Teri) Selden, Tracy Selden, Kim (Michael) Chaffee and Kerrie (Jim) Kraft; 10 great grandchildren.
