Galen L. McKenzie, 89, long time resident of Eveleth/Virginia, passed away peacefully at home on September 28, 2020 surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer.
Galen was born to Alexander and Minnie McKenzie, April 23, 1931, in Faribault, Minnesota. Galen graduated from Virginia High School and served in the United States Army where fought in the Korean War. He married is Forever Love, Betty Heinzer, December 16, 1967 in Virginia, Minnesota. Galen worked for United States Steel for 38 years, retiring in 1989. He was a long time member of the American Legion Post 239.
