Age 84, passed away on Sunday, October 10, 2004. He was born on May 31, 1920 in Grand Rapids, MI the son of Frederick and Johanna (Denbraber) Dorner. Mr. Dorner served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of the Portland VFW Post #4090. Fred drove a school bus for Portland for many years, and he worked at John Beane in Lansing for a number of years. He enjoyed refinishing antique furniture, and he and his wife Elnora spent many winters in Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Alice Elnora Dorner on March 9, 2004. Surviving are 2 daughters, Kathleen (Larry) Terpstra of Sunfield and Jacqueline (Mel) Martin of Portland; grandchildren, Lucas, Amanda and Caleb Terpstra, Randy and Bryan Martin.
