Fred Allen Simms, formerly of Crisfield, MD, died at his home in Denton, MD on Friday, November 4, 2016. He was 79 years old.
Mr. Simms was born in Baltimore, MD on November 13, 1936. He was the son of the late Fred Woodrow Simms and Gertrude Louise Orme Simms.
Mr. Simms served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1952 until 1957. He became a Water Meter Reader for the City of Baltimore and was also a small engine repairman for Sears and Roebuck. He retired in 1996 and in 1997 moved to Crisfield. He and his wife had recently moved to Denton to be with his daughter because of health concerns.
Mr. Simms is survived by his wife, Mary C. Joan Simms of Denton; two daughters, Theresa Yingling and her husband Bryan of Florida and Annette Constantino and her husband Jerry of Denton; one brother, Richard Simms of Crumpton, MD; a sister, Carolyn Lockwood of Lansdowne, MD; a ½ brother, Donald Wagner of Hanover, PA; six grandchildren: Brad, Derek, Nicholas, Camden, Connor, and Isabella; and eight great grandchildren: Kyle, Austin, Keara, Kacie, Julius, Alec, Leighton, and Sadie.
