Bath- Frank Edward Jacob, 80, passed away peacefully at his residence on Monday, October 3, 2022. He was born on November 18, 1941, in Miami, Florida, the son of Francis L. and Helen E. (Berounsky) Jacob.
Frank was born and raised in Miami, Florida. After high school, he attended St. Mary’s Seminary and University in Baltimore, MD where he graduated with a degree in Philosophy. In 1963 he joined the US Navy Reserve and soon went full-time, attending OCS in Newport, RI. Frank was commissioned as an Ensign in June 1965. After attending language school and becoming fluent in Mandarin Chinese he traveled to various duty stations that included the USS Oriskany, Vietnam, and Germany. While stationed in Honolulu, HI, and earned a master’s degree in computer science from USC. After serving for 20 years, Frank retired from the Navy and worked at Lockheed Martin for many years in Maryland.
He was a career volunteer fireman and a member of the Episcopal Church. Frank enjoyed sailing and was very active at Saint Anne’s Episcopal Church in Damascus, Maryland. After moving to Bath in 2014 he became a member of Grace Episcopal Church.
He was predeceased by his wife, Catherine Jacob on December 7, 2019, and his brother, John William (Billy) Jacob Sr.
He is survived by two sons, Frank E. Jacob Jr. of Silver Spring, MD, and Brian J. Jacob and his wife Dawn of Olney, MD, and one daughter, Lisa M. Jacob of Mt. Airy, MD, his brother, Richard “Dick” Jacob and his wife Dayle of TN, and three stepdaughters and five grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
