Age 90, passed away on Monday, August 1, 2005. He was born on February 11, 1915 in Big Rapids, MI the son of Nelson Henry and Katie Mae (Chapman) Swinehart. Mr. Swinehart was a life member of the Ionia Moose Lodge, and was a member of the Ionia Chapter of the Masons. Floyd was a Sgt. in Company H. 126th Infantry in Ionia, and he retired from C & O Railroad after 35 years of service. He enjoyed playing cards, watching baseball and listening to country music. Floyd married Virginia E. Huey on December 31, 1936, and she preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death were his parents; granddaughter, Kaci; 1 brother; 2 sisters. Surviving are his children, Nelson (Joanne) Swinehart of Lapeer, Gary (Suzanne) Swinehart of Ionia, Linda (James) Hood of Ionia, Riley (Barbara) Swinehart of Comstock Park, and Jane (Dan) Fountain of Atlanta, Missouri; 21 grandchildren; 41 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren.
