Flossie H. Smith, age 88, passed at Royal Oaks Retirement Center in Sun City, Arizona on November 1, 2017.
She was born in Princeton, West Virginia on May 29, 1929. She was the ninth of ten children born to the late Jacob A. Helsel, Jr. and Biddie A. (Kanode) Helsel.
Flossie worked for the National Security Agency at Fort George G. Meade, Maryland for 23 years (1956-1979) as a secretary and personnel officer. She and her husband were charter members of the Glen Burnie Christian Church which is now Severn Christian Church. After retirement she moved to Sun City, Arizona and became a member of the Sun City Christian Church where she was very active.
She is survived by two children, Vincent Wright Sr. (JoAnne) and Annette Kelly (Larry) as well as grandchildren, Jennifer Kelly, Bradley Kelly (Renee), Vincent Wright Jr., Allison Wright and great-grandchildren, Noel Greeves, Chloe Kelly. Grandchild Eryn Wright preceded her in death. She also has many other wonderful nephews and nieces. She is also survived by one sister, Juanita H. Chapman (Sam) of Columbia, Maryland.
