Mrs. Montgomery passed away on May 1, 2011 at the age of 94. She was at home with her family while receiving care from Ionia Area Hospice. Fern was born on January 2, 1917 in Mecosta County to Robert and Mamie McCoy. Fern married Charles Snyder Montgomery on October 15, 1945. Surviving are Fern’s children Robert (Margaret) Bennett, Linda (Ron) Dankenbring, Nancy (Wayne) Morgridge, Doris Hopkins and Pat (Terry) Madison; 23 grandchildren; 71 great grandchildren. Fern was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie, who passed away in June of 1974; daughters Marguerite (Charles) Yahr and Joanne (William) Robinson; several grandchildren; son-in-law, Larry Hopkins; brothers Lewis McCoy and Robert McCoy. Fern will be greatly missed by her family. She will always being our hearts and in our thoughts.
