Fern Davis of Ironton, Missouri formerly of St. James, Missouri passed away on Saturday, February 24, 2007 at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Farminton, Missouri. Fern was 87 years, 10 months, and 12 days of age.

Fern was born on April 12, 1919 to her parents: Charles and Maebelle (Hatfield) Rogers. She was united in marriage to James William Davis Sr. and to this union five children were born. James passed away November 15, 1991.

Fern drove a school bus in the St. James District for 12 years on the Highgate Route. She delivered meal to shut in people. Fern was a Senior Companion for eleven years. She was a people person; a multi-talented person; and a very determined woman. Fern was a member of the Highgate Baptist Church and was always a supporter of the churchs missions. She loved her family and grandchildren dearly. She was a very loving and considerate person. She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.

Fern is survived by two sons: James William Davis Jr. and wife Carolyn of Ditmer, Missouri; and Charles Alfred Davis and wife Christina of Barnhart, Missouri; three daughters: Bette Louise Davis How and husband Walter of Festus, Missouri; Barbara Jean Davis Beals and husband Zachary of Hoden, MIssouri; and Patricia Ann Davis Ashley and husband Charles of Cedar Hill, Missouri; three sisters: Ethel Jeffs of Union, Missouri; Aletha Miller of Denver, Colorado; and Esther Rusk of Aurora, Colorado; sixteen grandchildren; thirty nine great-grandchildren and thirty great-great-grandchildren.

Preceding Fern in death is her parents: Charles and Maebelle (Hatfield) Rogers; and four brothers: Elmer, Claire, Riley, and Leslie Rogers.
