Fayola D. Palm passed away on Sunday, November 20, 2022 at LifeCare Roseau Manor in Roseau, MN. She was 86 years old.

Fayola Denice Palm was born on June 25, 1936, in Malung, MN, to Oscar and Dorothy (Comstock) Erickson. She grew up in Malung and Wannaska and graduated from Roseau High School in 1954.

On June 18, 1954, Fay married Marvin Palm. They moved out to Wannaska and began farming and raising their family of four children. Fay worked hard as a farm wife and did all that was needed. In the later 1960’s and early 70’s she worked as a teacher’s aide.

Fay enjoyed knitting, reading, dancing, mowing the lawn and picking blueberries. She also loved to cook, bake, and can jams and jellies. Every week the house would be filled with the aroma of fresh, home-baked bread. She enjoyed planting big gardens and would can the bountiful produce from those gardens. Fay especially loved her family, grandkids and great grandkids. She was a very strong Christian woman who was active in the church ladies aide. She was also very active in the “Walk to Remember”, an organization dedicated to honoring and remembering those afflicted with dementia and Alzheimer’s.

Fay was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Dorothy; husband, Marvin; son-in-law, Neil (Jake) Jacobson; sister, Phyllis (Elder) Sandstrom; brothers, Lester (Dot) Erickson and Delbert Erickson; brothers and sisters-in-law Ruth (Nels) Osell, Gladys (Fred) Lund, Verna (Russ) Ottum, Elaine (John) Ulvin and Bert (Nora) Palm.

She is survived by her children, Shelley (Keith) Jacobson, Gregg Palm, Ron Palm, Shannon (Shari) Palm; grandchildren, Erik Jacobson, Stephanie (Geoff) Larson, plus five step-grandchildren; great grandchildren Lyrick and Theryn Larson; seven step-great grandchildren and ten step-great great grandchildren.

Fay’s family would like to extend a big “Thank You” to the staff of Northern Horizons and the Roseau Manor for the excellent care she received while living there.
